Meet Your Therapist

Hello and welcome! My name's Patrick. I'm a life long New Jersian, avid outdoorsman, music fanatic, so-so photography, and a therapist. I've been in the field since 2015 and have been fortunate enough to work in a wide variety of settings and with a ton of different clientele. I started my practice in 2023 to focus on helping early in life adults overcome their worry, self-doubt and confusion in order to start creating a meaningful life.

Since starting in the field I've learned a lot of different interventions and strategies for helping people and have a pretty extensive toolbox of strategies for helping. No matter what tool I'm using in session, at the heart of any therapy technique is the client - therapist relationship. I strive to meet people where they're at, provide a casual feel to therapy, and be a source of support and validation, all while helping you reach your goals.

Some Other Things I Help With

While my practice focuses on working with early in life adults, I work with a wide variety of clients aged. My training and experience provides me with the skills necessary to effectively treat a variety of mental health diagnoses. Common issues I help people with are:

• Failure to Launch                      • Sleep Issues                          • Organization                               • Anger Management

• Panic Attacks                            • Identity Confusion                 • Relationships                              • Phobias

• Feeling Lost in Life                   • Low Motivation                      • Mood Disorders                          • Career Dissatisfaction

This is by no means an exclusive list. I encouraged anyone interested in therapy to reach out to me. Even if I don't have the expertise to help you, I can usually refer you to someone who does!

Therapy Techniques I Use

I use CBT, ACT, SFBT, ERP, and many other evidenced based therapies in my practice. For OCD I conduct ERP with interventions from ACT, to help you overcome the panic OCD causes and break free from rituals.

Cool...But What Does That Mean?

Us mental health folks love acronyms! Each acronym above stands for a different type of therapy. I tend to use a strengths based approach and CBT as a foundation, with other therapy techniques interwoven. Here's what the above means:

CBT: Cognitive behavioral therapy, a structured and goal directed therapy focused on helping you identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking, doing, and feeling.

ACT: Acceptance and commitment therapy, focuses on helping you connect with your values, connect with the present, and accept tough thoughts and feelings. ACT helps you live a meaningful and fulfilling life despite mental health symptoms.

SFBT: Solutions focused brief therapy, helps you identify what is already working for you in life and how to do more of that.

ERP: Exposure and response prevention, the number 1 treatment approach for obsessive compulsive disorder. In this treatment we identify triggers of compulsions and collaboratively face these triggers together, helping your OCD realize that the terrible things it thinks will happen aren't really all that likely to happen.

Strengths Based: this means we focus on identifying and using your personal strengths, experiences, and knowledge about you to overcome problems, reach goals, and generally feel better.

Evidenced based interventions means interventions that are backed by research and proven to be effective for specific diagnoses. I only use interventions I know how to use in my practice and I wouldn't have any client ever do an intervention that I myself haven't done. I also only used interventions that have been proven effective for your mental health diagnosis. That means we aren't going to use ERP for depression or SFBT for OCD.
